This review is from: AMD Original Fan For AM2 Athlon 64 X2 6000+ FAN-AM6000 (Personal Computers)
Purchased mine NEW from Komputerbay. Can't speak highly enough about their fast shipping. Part arrived much sooner than I expected. It arrived in NEW condition and was the equivalent size of the original AMD heat sink. Though it was not exactly like the original fan. The original fan had curved knife looking fins. (See Amazons stock photo) The fan that arrived had generic flat blade fins. Doubt this affects it performance, thought I am betting it will be louder at full speed. It also came with the stock slathering of grey thermal compound. The fan fit perfectly on my mother board and seems to do the trick. I would recommend it to anyone that needs one for their AMD X2 6000+
Edit: Flat bladed fan is really noisy compared to the original AMD. I removed one star on my rating.

Price was a little high, but well worth the hassle free purchase. Now I just need another AMD Athlon CPU for my other board and I'll come back and buy another for that one too.

Although large and heavy, it runs several degrees C cooler than the heatsink/fan delivered with the Intel Quad Core CPU. Running Core Temp, all 4 cores run under 40 C where as the Intel factory provided system was running 44 and higher at idle temps and 65 C + under load, which is what prompted me to purchase a larger heatsink.
I rarely hear the fan spin up faster and never see temps over 45 C even while running gaming applications.
CON: It is large and may require a little caution when installing depending on how your power wiring in your PC is setup. I had to tie one power wire to the case to keep it from touching the heatsink. Also it's own power wire for the fan needs a little care when installing. It can be pulled to tight and interfere with the fan.
Install was simple but does require you remove the motherboard as there is a back plate you must install to support the weight. It does not use the horrible push pin locking system that... Read more

OMG! I can't OC my Phenom from 3.0ghz to 3.8ghz with the stock cpu cooler without reaching 75'C-80'C (its true!)Then I bought this thing and added Arctic Silver 5 as my thermal paste. WHHHOOOAAA!!! Im 3.8ghz now with 57'C-60'C at 100% stress test. Isn't that lovely! Guys Highly recommended for the oc's, it work for me!

I was a bit confused because of the mixed reviews and the conflicting information in Amazon.com's product description. Contrary to what Amazon.com states above, they are actually shipping the *current* model of this cooler, which is the Zalman CNPS9900A LED. This latest model of the cooler comes with a mounting bracket for socket LGA155/1156. One of the reviews is from 2009, well and perhaps that is why the information is inaccurate. This is the *latest* version of the cooler, and it is *beautiful* and *effective!*
However, assembling the cooler is a bit trickier than the instructions report. The instructions correctly state that one has to remove the protective shroud before using the cooler. What the instructions do *not* say is that the protective shroud must be removed *before* one can install the base bracket on the cooler to mount it in the case. I wasted quite a bit of time trying to install base bracket on the fan before I realized that simply cutting off... Read more

Cooler Master’s Hyper TX series has evolved alongside with today’s demanding mainstream CPUs. Cooler Master now releases a milestone product—the Hyper TX3, Cooler Master’s first-ever air cooler that is compatible with Intel LGA 1156 socket. The Hyper TX3 also re-release the original and effective direct contact heat-pipe design to ensure excellent heat dissipation.
Flexible mountings for multiple sockets
Maximum compatibility with CPU wattage of over 130W TDP. Three direct contact heat-pipes with aluminum fins provide excellent heat dissipation.
Optional second fan may be installed to increase cooling performance.
92mm PWM fan with wide RPM range and anti-vibration rubber pads.

Is this the best cooler money can buy? Of course not, it's $20.
But is this probably the best value cooler w/o spending $50+? I'd be hard pressed to find a better one.
My basic setup: AMD Athlon II X4 630 (2.8 Ghz mild overclock for now to 3.2 Ghz), MSI mb, 2 GB DDR2 ram, XFX ATI 5750.
With the stock heatsink and fan at this O/C my idle temp was ~ 32-34 C, at load around 52-54 C.
Not a difficult install, instructions are terrible but for an AM2+, AM3 chip it's quite easy with no tools, and do NOT have to remove the motherboard from the case (can not speak for Intel chips), just takes a little common sense although the thermal grease supplied is pretty bad (like rubber cement).
Anyways after the TX3 was in place my idle temps are now at 22-24 C and at load 36-38 C. I'd say for a $20 cooler that isn't too loud, that's a pretty good result.

This review is from: Cooler Master RR-910-HTX3-G1 130-Watt 92mm Hyper TX3 CPU Cooler for 775/1156/AMD/AM2/AM3 (Personal Computers)
I've recently built an AMD Athlon II 425-based computer (a certain regional electronics retailer well-known for their CPU/motherboard combos made an offer I could not refuse. What I paid for the CPU works out to less than forty dollars.) Naturally, and like most other people who choose to assemble their own PCs, I could not resist the allure of overclocking. Of course, stock cooling solutions are adequate for... well, cooling the CPU at stock settings. Since all modern CPUs have great overclocking potential but get quite hot when doing so, I wanted to upgrade my cooler.
After some searching, I found the Cooler Master Hyper TX3. In keeping with the philosophy of my build (buy the product at the point where performance just about stops increasing linearly with the price), I made the purchase, and the product arrived at my doorstep a few days later.
Cooler Master has elected to use plastic blister packaging for the Hyper TX3. It was easy to open, and... Read more

Perfect fit for a micro-ATX Socket 1156 Motherboard, September 28, 2009

I am overall greatly impressed with this HSF for its price to performance ratio and ease of installation.
I purchased this CPU cooler for a new Socket 1156 (Core i5 750) build, after having already built the computer and using it, the stock Intel HSF was a great disappointment. Intel's stock HSF is about half the height of its usual circular fin array. It also performed, in my opinion, horribly. At idle the temperature was around 38 degrees Celsius with the fan being audible over other fans and components. At full load it approached 76 degrees Celsius, which was disturbing enough for me to not perform a prolonged stress test on the CPU. The fan at this point was a very audible whirling, like most small fans running at high RPM pushing air over a small surface.
This HSF was an easy installation, no need to remove any components. It uses the standard push-pins for Socket 1156 compatibility. With its light weight and compact size, I am confident the push-pin... Read more
